About Justine

I have been supporting mothers and babies in Cambridge since 2011 when I was accredited as a breastfeeding counsellor with one of the national breastfeeding organisations.

I became a recognised postnatal doula with Doula UK early in 2016 and have worked with many mothers and families since then including families with their first baby, with older children and also with a number of families with twins.

I'm also a Developing Doulas Companion/Mentor supporting new doulas.

My background is in charity communications but after I had my children, I came to realise the difference the right support, information and skills make to new mothers and families.

I have worked with families who are breastfeeding, who are bottle-feeding, who are combination feeding and who are supplementing in various ways. My passion is about helping parents to reach the goals they set for themselves by giving independent, evidence-based support and information.

I also co-lead the local group of a national breastfeeding organisation and am part of the national social media team.

I am a co-founder and trustee of Cambridge Breastfeeding Alliance and am one of the breastfeeding counsellors working at the weekly Breastfeeding Drop-in in Cambridge and providing online support. I also provide breastfeeding support at a number of groups in the area.

I have completed many courses and training sessions in infant feeding. It is important to me that my support is evidenced-based and up-to-date.

I am part of Doula UK, Cambridge Doula Collective, Developing Doulas and Cambridgeshire Doulas and am a Companion/Mentor for new doulas with Developing Doulas, and offer specialist one-off sessions around infant feeding.

I hold a current DBS check, insurance and emergency paediatric first aid level 3.

"Justine's help was crucial to us helping us to fully enjoy the first few months with our little girl. The combination of her experience, lovely approach and huge knowledge about breastfeeding gave us the support we needed to get through a difficult start and still feel like we could enjoy those initial few weeks together as we got used to being a new family. Her sensitive approach meant we were comfortable and enjoyed having her as part of what is a very personal family time. We are incredibly grateful for her wisdom, sensitivity and kindness, and can't recommend her support postnatally more highly."
